  About Us

The Elizabeth Twp. Fire Departments decided to start a Junior firefighter program to get teenagers interested in the fire service. The Juniors can attend meetings, participate in training sessions, and even go on calls. The Junior Members decided to take it one step further in the year 2008 and make their own organization. This organization became known as the ETFD Junior Firefighters Association. This organization is comprised of junior members located at the Blaine Hill, Central, Blythedale (Victory), and Greenock Firehouses. Currently, this organization has over 10 active members.  Though the fire companies alone had a junior program in place for years, we thought it more beneficial to merge the company into one to centralize rescources, funds, and strengthen recruitment.  Over the past years, several of our junior members have been promoted to senior status and some are currently active line officers within their respective companies.  As you can see,  we take the junior program very seriously and are seeking new members at all times.  The age limit is 14 years and no formal training or qualifications are needed to apply.  This program is mentored by responsible senior firefighters, who at one time were junior firefighters themselves.  The junior firefighters of Elizabeth Twp. play a big part in our company's operation and we would not know what to do without them. Besides, they are our future, in training.  Please help us keep the tradition going and join this noble profession, you won't be let down!
